Islam is the religion of Muslims. There is a lot of discussion and criticism about Islam now. I don’t want to go that way at the moment. But I want to open a repository of information. How did Islam come to Bengal or South Asia, how did it spread? How that information came about in history.
.
Akbar Ali Khan in his book “Success in Propagating Islam in Bengal is a Historical Analysis” has analyzed the field of propagation of Islam in Bengal.
.
This subcontinent has a great combination of arguments and information about how Islam came to be. A detailed description of the evidence and how historians have interpreted it can be found.
.
Akbar Ali Khan has shown in the book how Islam spread in Bengal. He explained how the number of Muslims in the society has increased based on the evidence. As can be said, some have married for the sake of business, some have converted to Islam for the sake of changing social status
.
However, before the census of 182, no one showed much interest in propagating Islam in Bengal. Bengal and Bangali were considered a Hindu province like other parts of India. When the first census was taken in 182, it was found that Bengal had about 50% Muslims. In particular, the Muslim population of Bengal is about 21.7%.
.
Interestingly, by the nineteenth century, there were about 200 million Muslims in the world. Of these 200 million, about 72.1 million were Muslims in India. This means that 30% of the world’s Muslims were in India. This is a surprising fact. Again, if it is said during the propagation of Islam in Bangladesh, it took at least 500-600 years.
.
No data has been found on how Islam was propagated in Bengal before the eighteenth century. It is said that the reference was not found. When the information came out because of the census, everyone was interested in

how so many Muslims came to Bengal. Many historians have tried to give theories in different ways. But none of that was logical or completely correct. It can be said that no one has been able to prove it clearly.
.
On the other hand, there is a chapter in this book about Sufi saints and saints in Bengal. In my personal opinion, it seems that their influence was much greater in the propagation of Islam. People have a special devotion to the saints, so many have converted to Islam out of devotion to them.
.
Eaton is now one of the historians who wrote. He has presented many arguments. Not all of them are correct. In some cases it is correct and in some cases it is seen that his theory is not working. In fact, it is difficult to say in the right way. Many say that Islam was propagated during the Muslim rule. But the data show that the Muslim rulers did not take much initiative in propagating Islam.
.
I spoke of Pir Sufi saints above. Many Sufi saints have come to Bengal From Khan Jahan to Hazrat Shah Jalal, everyone’s words have come up in this book. The details of their time and the circumstances in which they came here have been described in detail.
.
Talking about the book will be much bigger. I will just say that it is a very informative book written about the propagation of Islam in Bengal. Every piece of information is beautifully presented and argued for and against.
.
The book is a little complicated so it will take time to read
